EDWARD A. PFEIFFER
Edward A. Pfeiffer, 77, of 802 W. Pleasant st., died in City Hospital at 8:05 p.m. Monday following several years of failing health.
A native and life-long Springfielder, Mr. Pfeiffer was born March 28, 1882, a son of Adam and Caroline Wendt Pfeiffer.
He was a retired hardware merchant who had been associated with the former Hugel and Heiserman Hardware Co.
Mr. Pfeiffer was a member of Central Methodist Church and Class No. 1 of the church, and was a member of St. Andrew's Lodge, F. and A. M.
Survivors include his widow, Jessie F.; a son, Ralph Pfeiffer of Springfield, Route 1; a step-daughter, Mrs. Merrill Weller of Springfield, and four step-grandchildren.
His body was taken to the Littleton funeral home where friends may call between 3 and 5 p.m. and 7 and 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Services will be held in the funeral home at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, the Rev. Roland G. Carter, pastor of Central Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
