He was born on May 8, 1921; a son of the late William and Maud (Carpenter) Henkel.
He served his country in the Army during WWII; family members include his son Dennis (Linda) Henkel and daughter Debbie Henkel (Dave Budimir). Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 7, 2011 at Lain Sullivan Funeral Home, in Park Forest.
Burial will follow with Military Honors at Skyline Memorial Park.
The family will greet guests on Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Park Forest.
