Corla Dee Harmon, 48, of Helena, passed away in early October 2011. She was born on March 17, 1963, in Anaconda.
She was best known for her loving and caring personality. She had a fun-loving spirit that will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a biker babe at heart and loved spending time in her garden and caring for her numerous house plants.
Corla attended Helena High School and graduated in 1980. She worked a number of years for the state, working at the Historical Society and the Office of Unemployment. Corla lived her last years in York with her significant other, Steve. She was a loving and caring daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart.
She is survived by her significant other, Steve Pierce of York; her mother and stepfather, Sharon and William Hooper of East Helena; her sister, Lyn Welch, also of East Helena; her sons, John McDonnell of Colorado and Kody McDonnell and his wife, Chantel, and their two sons, Tobias and Nolan of Dillon; and her nieces, Heather Ridout and Chentel Welch.
A celebration of life will be held for Corla at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 6, at Eagles post 16 on Fee Street. All are welcome to attend and share in the wonderful memory of a truly gracious spirit. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to help with the cost of burial expenses. A memorial account in Corla's name has been set up at American Federal Savings Bank on the corner of Prospect and Roberts in Helena.
