They fooled everyone and went to Tahlequah. The marriage, which took place on January 29, 1926,lasted until Luther's death on May 8, 1974. Mamie never remarried.

Mamie is survived by one daughter and three sons, Norma Bennett and her husband Harlan of Braggs, Dewey Delbert Davis and his wife Jeannie of Braggs, James Arlis Davis of Braggs and his wife Jennifer of Muskogee and David David and wife Jennifer, also of Muskogee. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Curtis Davis, Wade Bennett, Brett Bennett, Micah Bennett, Jim Davis, Jeff Davis and Chris Davis.

Services were held at the Braggs Church of Christ, on Friday March 5, 2004 at 10:00a.m. and was officiated by Bill Isbell and Steve Evans. Mamie was then laid to rest beside her husband at South Bethel Cemetery.
