Funeral services for William Wayne Hunter, 62, of Henryville, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 8, at Adams Funeral Home and Crematory, Henryville, with burial in Bowery Cemetery. He died Friday, March 2, 2012, at his home during the tornado.
He was born in Louisville on March 10, 1949, to Gilbert E. and Frances E. Stiles Hunter who are both deceased. He graduated from Salem High School in 1967, served in the Army being stationed in Korea during the Vietnam era, and graduated from Jefferson Community College as a registered nurse. He was retired from Clark Memorial Hospital as a registered nurse. He married his wife of 41 years, Lenora K. Brishaber Hunter, on Feb. 19, 1971, at Blue Lick Christian Church in Henryville where he was also a member. Lenora survived the catastrophic event and survives in Henryville.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Rodney Max Hunter (John David Molesky) of Washington, D.C.; his daughter, Pamela Sue Rawlings and her husband, Glenn, of Henryville; six grandchildren, Joseph, Christopher, and Alivia King, all of Jeffersonville, Monika and Kimberly Rawlings, and Chayse Lewen, all of Borden; two brothers, Phillip E. Hunter and his wife, Argentina, of Crestview, Fla., and David A. Hunter and his wife, Elizabeth, of Henryville.
He was preceded in death by his twin infant daughters, Jill and Julie Hunter.

Note: Wayne was the only Henryville Casualty of the Tornado that devasted the Henryville Area. His home on Speth Rd. was totally destroyed.
