Son of the late Hiram W. & Sylvia Lasley Perrin. Coach Perrin was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

He was a teacher, coach, and athletic director.

He was softball coach at Christian County High School from 1984 2003, Softball Coach at Austin Peay State University for five years, athletic director at Trigg County High School for three years, and returned to Christian County High School as girls softball coach for 2011-2012.

He coached the Christian County High School State Championship Wrestling Team (1988) and runner-up Wrestling Teams in 1986, 1987, and 1989. He coached the Christian County High School Lady Colonel Softball Championship Teams in 1990, 1991, 1994, and 1996; and the runner up Championship teams in 1986, 1987, 1989, and 1999. He was inducted in the 2012 Dawahares Kentucky High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame, 2003 Christian County Hall of Fame, and the 2000 Kentucky Fast Pitch Coaches Association Hall of Fame. In addition to being a past president, he served in all other capacities of the State Coaches Association.

Funeral services for Jim Perrin, 65, of Hopkinsville, were held on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Hopkinsville. The Revs. Bob Sipper and Tim Turner officiated. Burial followed in Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville. Hughart and Beard Funeral Home of Hopkinsville was in charge of the arrangements.

Jim Perrin died at 4:45 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at his home in Hopkinsville.

He was born on Dec. 28, 1946, in Daisy, Tenn., to the late Hiram W. Perrin and Sylvia Lasley Perrin.

Jim was a teacher, coach and athletic director. He was a softball coach at Christian County High School from 1984 2003, softball coach at Austin Peay State University for five years, athletic director at Trigg County High School for three years and returned to Christian County High School as girls softball coach for 2011 2012.

Rest in Peace Coach Perrin. You will be missed by many, but you left a wonderful legacy at CCHS. You will never be forgotten. Thank you for being the great teacher that you were to me.
