Viora (nee Carrick) O'Connor Maher was my Great Grandmother. She was the daughter of Wilhemina "Minnie" (nee Esberg) and Valentine Carrick. Viora married Denis O'Connor and had two children: Margaret and Denis "Buster". Viora had two sisters: Laura (who she was very close with) and Alice and three brothers: Robert "Robbie", Valentine "Vally" and William "Willie" (twins).

Viora had a beautiful singing voice. She cleaned apartment houses to help support her family. Viora spent her entire life in New York City.

After Viora's first husband, Denis O'Connor, died in 1930 (at age 37), Viora married James Maher. Viora died of an illness at age 37. After Viora passed away her children lived with their Grandmother, Minnie, and then Viora's Sister, Laura.
