Nathan Thomas Honis, 27, of Syracuse, passed away Friday, August 2. He enjoyed spending time with Faith, his daughter, and with family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing and hiking in the Adirondack Mountains. Nathan was an Operation Iraqi Freedom Army Veteran serving in the 101st Airborne Division Bravo Company. Surviving are his daughter, Faith Elaine Honis; his wife, Brittney; his parents Mary and Robert Honis of Onondaga Hill; his sister, Sarah Honis (Adam Trimmer) of NJ; his brothers, Jacob Honis of Syracuse, Jeremy (Susie) Honis of Winter Garden, FL; his maternal grandmother, Elna Dwyer of Onondaga Hill; his paternal grandparents, Joe and Vera Honis of Westvale; nieces and nephew, Emma and Ryan Honis and Lily Trimmer; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Thomas M. Dwyer in 2013. Calling Hours Monday, August 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a service to follow at the Butler-Badman Funeral Home., Inc., 4504 W. Seneca Tpk. Private burial Onondaga Co. Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Onondaga Free Library, 4840 W. Seneca Tpk., Syracuse, NY 13215.
