Cpl. Taylor J. Baune, 21, of Andover, Minn., died June 13 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, Calif.
Preceded in death by mother, Melinda Holm. Survived by loving wife, Colleen Baune; father, Gary (Sheila Schmidt) Baune; brother, Dusty Holm; sister, Lindee Holm; grandparents, John and Carolyn Baune and Sharon & Paul Palthen; uncle, John (Gina) Palthen; aunt, Mary Jo Yzermans; cousins, Chelsi and Kenzi Yzermans; and many, many friends. Taylor taught others how to love unconditionally. He had a passion for life that was hard to come by. Once he set his mind on something, there was no turning back -- like his decision to join the Marine Corps. As much as he hated to be away from his family, he loved fighting overseas for our country. He was a hero then and will continue to be a hero in everyone's eyes. Although he is gone, he will continue to be loved and never forgotten. Taylor has left a hole in the hearts of everyone who loved him here on earth, but he is now reunited with his mother as an angel in Heaven. Please respect TJ's wishes by wearing colorful, cheerful clothing - no black. Graveside service 1 PM Monday, June 25, 2012 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
