Florence A. Dunn, 101, died May 7, 2008, at the Hutchinson Hospital. She was born Aug. 5, 1906 in Ellinwood, the daughter of Louis and Elisa Maria Hauser Tieperman.
She was a homemaker and a Hutchinson resident. She attended Kinsley High School and graduated in 1924. She also graduated from Mrs. Sandar's Business College in Hutchinson. She belonged to the Trinity United Methodist Church.
She was a member of P.E.O. Chapter B.L.; Hutchinson Hospital Auxiliary. She did volunteer work with the Hutchinson Hospital Auxiliary and American Red Cross. She was active in support of Brownie Scouts, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and activities of her children at Roosevelt and Morgan Grade Schools. She had a lifelong interest in painting, Hutchinson Art Association, golf and music. She loved to travel In the U.S.A. and Europe.
On June 25, 1932 she married Harry H. Dunn in Hutchinson. He died Sept. 24, 2004.
Survivors include: son, Lt. Col. (Retired) John Galbreath Dunn and wife Sheila, Miami, Fla.; and daughter, Mary Elise Dunn, Denver, Colo.
She is preceded in death by brothers, George, Edwin and Ernest Tieperman; sisters, Emma Wise, Ella Jane Gillmore, Selma Holland, Hazel Martin.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Pat Ault-Duell and the Rev. Robert Brooks presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with a private family committal service after the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Harry H. and Florence A.
