He was a son of Jacob and Anna Archer of Noble Co., OH. He married Rosanna Moore and resided in Noble Co., OH, Kansas and Jackson Co., WV. He was a corporal in Co. G, 176th Reg. of OH Infantry, honorably discharged 14 June 1865.
