OBITUARY from Horton Kansas Headlight: Anderson--- Daniel B. Anderson was born in Carpentersville, Putnam county, Ind., on Dec. 22, 1840. and died at his home in Horton, on Jan. 17, 1921, aged 80 years and 26 days. He was united in marriage to Sarah Ann Keener on July 13, 1860, in Buchanan county, Mo. Three children were born to this union--Mrs. Mary F. Stanley, George E. Anderson, and Hattie J. Jester, all of whom survive him. Mrs. Anderson died on March 22, 1877. He was united in marriage to Martha C. Housh on Aug. 31, 1877, at Hiawatha, Kans. To This union seven children were born: Mrs. Alv Lingenfelter, of Horton; Mrs. Carrie Hosier, of Ft. Collins, Colo; David E., of Kingman, Kans.; William H., of Horton; Robert J., of Parker, S.D.; Jess C. of Kansas City, Mo., and Daniel E., of Maryville, Kans., all survive him. He came with his parents to Missouri in 1856, and came to Kansas in 1861, and has ben a resident of Brown County ever since, save about five years when he lived in Kingman County. At the call of his country in the sixties he enlisted and served 3 years, 3 months and 13 days in Co. F of the 13th Kansas Volunteer Infantry. He was a member of Black Eagle Post No. 453, G.A.R. He was a member of the Christian church of Horton. and a firm believer in the tenents of that faith. He was a faithful and devoted husband and father and leaves to his loved ones the heritage of a noble life. The funeral survices were held from the Christial church Jan. 19 at 2 pm., Rev. Eugene Kramer, of the M.F., church, officiating, ahd interment was made up at the Horton cemetery.

He was united in marriage to Sarah Ann Keener on July 30, 1860 in Buchanan county Missouri. Three children were born to this union - Mary Frances, George Edward and Hattie J. Mrs. Anderson died on March 22, 1877. He was united in marriage to Martha Catherine Housh on Aug. 31,1877. They had seven children: Ava Dell, Carrie Bell,David Edgar, William Houston, Robert J, Jesse C,and Daniel E. He came with his parents to Missouri in 1856, and came to Kansas in 1861. He lived for five years in Kingman county, but spent the rest of his life in Brown County. He enlisted and served 3 years, 3 months and 13 days in Company F of the 13th Kansas Volunteer Infantry. He was a member of the Christian Church of Horton. He was buried Jan. 19, 1921 in the Horton cemetery.
