INDIANAPOLIS-Mrs. Dorothy Condon, 59 9417 N. Illinois St,m died at 6:20 a.m. Thursday in St. Vincent's Hospital, following a six-month illness. She was the wife of William F. Condon, former Howard County treasurer, state representative and member of the Alcoholic Beverage Commission in Indianapolis.
Born Dec. 20, 1914 in Greentown, she was the daughter of Ellis B. and Laura (Mast) Cates. She married William Condon in 1940 and he survives. She was a 1932 graduate of Greentown High School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Greentown, Greentown chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, Greentown American Legion Auxiliary, and Phi Chi Epsilon sorority in Kokomo. She and her husbad operated the Highway Cafe in Greentown from 1940 to 1944 and Condon's Grill from 1952-1967.
Surviving with the husband are the father Ellis B. Cates of Greentown, two sons Derry Condon, Indianapolis; a daughter Mrs. David (Billy Lou) Bankoff of Indianapolis; a sister Mrs. Marion (Doris Ellen) Ayres of Greentown, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Pickett Funeral Home, Greentown. Burial will be in Greentown Cemetery. Friends may call at Leppert-Copeland Mortuary in Indianapolis Friday afternoon and evening and at Pickett Funeral Home after 2: p.m. Saturday. The family prefers that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
