Rufus Case was a Revolutionary soldier. He enlisted with the Connecticut Continental Troups 4 May 1778, and he was discharged 31 Dec 1778. Both Rufus and his second wife, Rachel (Goddard) Case applied for his pension, Rachel doing it, of course, after Rufus passed away. Rachel mentioned that she had been the caretaker for his first wife, before Huldah (Holcomb) Case passed away.

Father: Micah Case b: 1 AUG 1731 in Simsbury, Hartford, CT
Mother: Rhoda Willcockson b: 13 MAR 1732 in Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT

He had two wives: 1) Huldah Holcomb, who died 13 May 1798; and 2) Rachel Goddard AKA Gossard, who he married 21 Jun 1798 in Granby First Congregational Church, Hartford, CT. (Rachel was the daughter of Nathan Gozard and Roseanna Hayes.) Rufus had children by both wives.
By Huldah he had:
1) Homer Case born in Granby, CT. abt 1790 or earlier. Homer married Comfort Metcalf on 27 Dec 1808 in Canandaigua, Ontario County, New York.
2) Lillisa AKA Leticia Case born 17 June 1792 in Granby, Hartford, CT. She married George Hubbard. She died 3 Apr 1843 in Van Buren Twp., Wayne County, Michigan.
3) Oren Case born 27 May 1784 in Granby. Died 5 May 1794 CT.
4) Seymour Case born 30 Oct 1787 (formerly mispelled as Leman due to Rufus's pour handwriting.) Seymour married Dorothy Niece on 3 Mar 1813. He died 24 Jan 1818 in Canadaigua, Ontario County, New York
5) Huldah Case born 9 May 1792 in Granby m Azariah Mitchell
6) Orin Case born 30 May 1794 in Granby, Hartford, CT
7) Nancy Case born 12 Mar 1797 Granby d 18 Sep 1797

By Rachel is had:
1) Nancy Harriet Case born 19 May 1799 in Granby, Hartford, CT. Married: Seth Barker. Nancy died 11 Jun 1869.
2) Fidelia Case born 14 Nov 1803 in Canandaigua, Ontario, NY
3) Rev. Job F. Case b. 21 Mar 1806 Canandaigua, Ontario, NY (Was a preacher in his later years)
4)Elias (Lias) Case born 6 May 1909 in Canandaigua, NY
5)Chauncey Case born 11 Mar 1813 in Canadaigua, Ontario, NY

Chauncey is also buried in the Norris Cemetery.
