Mrs. Mary Angel, a highly respected lady of the Elbow community, passed away at 11 o'clock Saturday morning. Death was due to a sudden stroke of paralysis which ended her life. She was 79 years of age and was born and reared in the Horseshoe Bend section of this county. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. John Nesbit, with whom the deceased made her home; one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Graham, also of the Elbow community; two half brothers, Sid and Joe Knight, both living in Horseshoe Bend; three half sisters, Mrs. Julia Petty of near Defeated; Mrs. Sid Pettross of Carthage, and Mrs. Samantha Horton of Thomaston, Ala. Burial was made Sunday afternoon at two o'clock in a cemetery near the home with the Rev. Bunyan Smith delivering the funeral discourse. The deceased was not a member of any church, although she was a professed Christian. Her husband preceded her to the grave a few years ago.
