Edward Nathaniel Ady, 84, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2009, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was born June 9, 1925, in Imperial, NE, a son of Marion James and Frances Lentz Ady. On December 10, 1942, in North Platte, NE, he married Evelyn D. Bunnell, who died January 26, 2007.
Mr. Ady was an auto mechanic, whose favorite hobby was restoring Thunderbird convertibles. He served with the engineers in the Army during World War II, and was engaged in the D-Day activities at Omaha Beach.
Survivors include a son, Edwin "Willie" Ady, of the home; a daughter, Janette Craig, and her husband, John, of Shawnee, KS; a grandson, John Craig, and his wife, Amy, of Olathe, KS; two great granddaughters, Lauren and Caitlin Craig, of Olathe; and a step granddaughter, Heather Thompson, of Kansas City.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Edward J. Ady.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Heckart Funeral Home, with John Craig II officiating.
Casket bearers will be Loy Holman, John Craig, John Craig II, Willie Ady, Foster McGuire, and Bobby Dunsday.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens, with military honors by VFW Post 2591.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time Monday at Heckart Funeral Home.
