Timothy Kern, 47, of Massillon, was found buried Friday near an Akron-area shopping mall. He had been shot in the head. A third body was found Friday not far from where Pauley's was buried in a hand-dug grave.
Police beleive he answered a Craigslist ad seeking a farm hand in Ohio.
Timothy "Tim" J. Kern, age 47, of Jackson Twp, passed away on Friday, Nov. 25, 2011.
He formerly worked for Sadie Renee's and Domino's Pizza of Canal Fulton and was currently employed by Speedway in Massillon. He was a dedicated coach with Holly Hills Baseball Association and other Plain Local Baseball Organizations. He had a great love of music and enjoyed playing the drums in several local bands. He will be remembered for his talent as a sound technician.
Tim is survived by three sons, Joshua Kern of Massillon, Zachary Kern, and Nicholas Kern of Plain Twp.; his parents, Jack and Ellen Kern of Jackson Twp.; sisters, Beckie Jeffrey of Indianapolis and Barb Daily of Massillon, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Family and close friends may attend a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave N.W. Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
In addition, there will be a Celebration of Life Wake on Dec. 11, 2011 at Sadie Renee's from 2 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Tim Kern Benevolent Fund, c/o any First Merit Bank, or can be mailed to First Merit Bank, Attn: Kayla Remark, 5594 Wales Ave NW, Massillon, OH 44646.
