On Wednesday, April 15, 2009, Leonard O. Booth, 84, surrounded by his family, was called home to be with his Lord Jesus.
Born August 8, 1924, in Philippi, West Virginia, the fourth of 12 children born to Wade and Blonda (Foster) Booth, Len retired from Kent Machine after 31 years service. He was a member of Tallmadge Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by parents; brother, Dewey; and sister, Reda; Len will be greatly missed by his wife of 62 years, Edith (Murphy); daughter, Karen (Frank) Bell; son, Larry (Sharon) Booth; and grandchildren, Ginger (Billy) Brake, Kimberly (Mark) Halliwill, Tina Sentelik, Jason (Jamie) Huth, Michael (Christina) Booth, Kevin Booth, Rocky Bell, Russ Bell and 12 great-grand-children. Len is also survived by brothers, James (Betty), Clarence (Betty Jean), Herbert (Audrey), Fred (Vieva), Clayton (Irma), Kenneth (Judy), Marvin (Jeannie); sisters, Anna Hendershot, Nina Lee (Bobby) Fridley; and sister-in-law, Lillian Booth; as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Len will forever be remembered for his strong hands, wood-working skills, beautiful hair, gold tooth, and of course, his love for peanut butter! He was a simple man who believed in working hard for what you have. His love will be greatly missed. (Me too!) He was considered the "Best Dad" to his children and his legacy of love will live on through his family.
