Ben Heer
Riley -- Ben Heer, 93, formerly of Riley, died Friday, Dec. 20, at a Leonardville nursing home.
Mr. Heer was a retired farmer.
He was born Dec. 20, 1892, in Riley County, the son of Jacob and Maria Fritz Heer.
Mr. Heer was a member of the United Methodist Church and Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge No. 346 at Riley.
His wife, Mrs. Carolyn Sanders Heer, survives. A daughter, Mrs. Sylvia Smith, preceded him in death.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Katherine Hauenstine, Junction City; and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church here. Burial will be in Riley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church in Riley. Holmes Funeral Home of Riley is in charge of arrangements.
