Son of James H Burwell and Eva Mae Stephens Burwell. Brother to Homer J Burwell (1878-?), Georgia E Burwell Haverlick (1881-1966), Carrie Leslie Burwell Davidson (1883-1967), Hattie Burwell White (1887-1979), Mabel Burwell (1889-?), Eva Burwell (1893-?), Inez Burwell Johnson (1895-1970) and Emily Burwell (1900-1918).He married Ida May (Johnson) Shurrager in 1905 and they had two children, Ethel May Burwell and Herbert Weaver. In 1914 Edward was charged with Bigamy, in Schodack, New York according to the newspaper The Hudson Register May 27, 1914 afternoon edition. On Sept. 12, 1918 he is registered through the Draft for World War I living in Litchfield, Connecticut, occupation was a Teamster. On Jan. 22, 1919 Edward dies. He rests with his Father and Mother and Sister Emily in their Family plot.
