Arvin Neal Anderson, 77, of Vermont, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
He was born Sept. 3, 1922, in Vermont, the son of Glen and Mabel Sparks Anderson. He married Rose Graham on Aug. 6, 1941, in St. Louis, Mo. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Sherell Qazzaz of Farmington, Mo.; one son, Jeff Hinderliter of Vermont; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Dr. Wendell Anderson, and one sister, Juanita Weiding.
He attended Vermont public schools and lived and worked in or around Vermont all of his life. He was an Army National Guard veteran. In 1983, he retired from AMAX Coal Company.
He was a member of the Vermont Lodge 116 A. F. & A. M. and the Vermont United Methodist Church, where services were held Saturday, with Rev Jerry Sawyer officiating.
Masonic services were also held by his lodge. Burial was in the Vermont Cemetery. Kost Memorial Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Vermont Methodist Church, American Cancer Society, or Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children.
