Elmer Alcorn, 55, of 218 S. Washing St., New Bremen, died of complications from diabetes at 2:50 p.m. Thursday in Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
Born October 19, 1931, in Dayton, he was the son of Charles and Margaret Hastings Alcorn. In 1973 he and his wife moved to New Bremen from England. He married Christine Veale, who survives, on June 24, 1970.
Other survivors include one son Michael Alcorn at home; five daughters; two step-sons, Paul and David Sturwold; one step-daughter, Stephen Christine Dunlap; 14 grandchildren; six sisters, and one brother.
He was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers. Mr. Alcorn, who worked at Gold Meadow Dairy in New Bremen, was a veteran of the U.S. Veteran in the Korean Conflict.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Gilberg Funeral Home, New Bremen, Rev. James Trick officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 5 to 9 p.m.
