  WELLS — Former Pink Lady
volunteer Esther Biesterfeld,
87, of Wells died Wednesday.
June 23, 1999, at Naeve Hospi-
tal, Albert Lea.

  Services are 10:30 a.m. Satur-
day at Good Shepherd. Luther-
an Church, Wells, the Rev. Ken-
neth Carlson Officiating. Burial
is in Rosehill Cemetery, Wells.

  Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today
at Bruss-Heitner Funeral
Home, Wells, and continues
one hour before services Satur-
day at the church.

  Mrs. Biesterfeld was born
Dec. 16, 1911, to Henry and
Emma Mohr at Taunton. She
graduated from high school in
1931. She married Henry
Biesterfeld Feb. 24. 1938, at
Wells. They farmed until 1957,
when they retired and moved
to Wells. A member of Good
Shepherd Lutheran, WELCA
and Love Circle, she had
served as a secretary and Sun-
day school teacher. She was a
charter member of Wells
Senior Citizens and she had
been a Pink Lady volunteer for
the hospital in Wells.

  Mrs. Biesterfeld is survived
by two daughters and their hus-
bands, Jean and Bill Braun of
Battle Lake and Joyce and Bert
Salisbury of Tempe, Ariz.; one
stepson and his wife, Lester
and Ione Biesterfeld of Albert
Lea; two stepdaughters, Car-
olee and her husband, Jim
Stenzel, of Delavan and LaDon-
na Brandt of Burnsville; 23
grandchildren; 44 great-grand-
children; eight great -great-
grandchildren; five sisters,
Freda Rosnow of Mora, Alva
and her husband, Wilbur Mal-
witz, of Elgin, Sophie Yost of
Wells, Evie Malwitz of Blue
Earth and Emma and her hus-
band, Louis Middlestadt, of
Brainerd; two brothers, Rudy
of Albert Lea and Henry Jr. of
Preston; and nieces and
nephews.

  She was preceded in death by
her husband, two brothers, one
stepdaughter and one grand-
daughter.
