The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Cobb learned with surprise and regret of Mr. Cobb's sudden death which occurred on Sunday afternoon at his residence on Park street. Mr. Cobb had not enjoyed good health for several weeks, and he was apparently no worse on Sunday afternoon until a few minutes before the end came. He was born in Abbot and was at the time of his death 67 years and 11 months of age. He was the son of Isaac and Lydia Jackson Cobb and since early manhood had been a successful contractor and an enterprising, respected citizen of this town. He leaves a wife and two children, Dr. Cobb of Portland, and Dr. Stanley Cobb of Waterville, who arrived in Dexter, Monday evening. The funeral was held from his late home, the services being conducted by Rev. J. A. Wiggin.
