Sandra Bernadine "Pumpkin" Koniowsky (1994-2007)
Miss Sandra Bernadine "Pumpkin" Koniowsky, 13, of Olive Hill, Ky., was carried home by the angels on Sunday evening, Nov. 11, 2007, in the University of Kentucky Children's Hospital in Lexington, Ky., after a six-month battle with brain cancer.
She was born Sept. 22, 1994, in Rowan County, Ky., the daughter of Peter David Koniowsky and Sandra Elise Reeves Barker of Olive Hill.
Sandra was an eighth-grade student at West Carter Middle School in Olive Hill where she was a cross-country runner. Her lifelong dream was to become a veterinarian, as she had a great love for animals, especially her cats and dogs. She was also a big Hannah Montana fan.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Stanley Koniowsky and Shirley Bernadine Gifford; and maternal grandfathers, Delbert Reeves and Willard "Shorty" Swanigan.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her half brother, Michael David Koniowsky of Warren, Ohio; maternal grandmother Virginia Swanigan of Olive Hill; and several aunts, uncles and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother David Rayburn and Brother Kenny Binion officiating.
Burial will be in Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today and before services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
