Patricia E. Hayden-Cosier
(March 17, 1934 - February 26, 2010)
Patricia E. Hayden-Cosier, 75, of Boyne City passed away on Feb 26 at her home with her family at her side.
Visitation will be at Stackus Funeral Home in Boyne City from 2-4 PM and 6-8pm PM Tues, March 2nd. A funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Boyne City at 11a.m. On Wednesday, March 3rd. Pastor Jones will be presiding.
Pat was born on March 17, 1934 in Petoskey the daughter Henry and Julia Daniels. She grew up in Petoskey and graduated from Petoskey High School in 1951.
Shortly after graduation, she married Richard A. Hayden, who preceded her in death in 1995, of Boyne and together they settled in Flint and raised a family. In 1982, she returned to Boyne to enjoy retirement. She loved to sell her vegetables at the Boyne City Farmers Market, where she met many great friends each week during the summer.
In 2004 she married Arthur Cosier of Boyne City. She enjoyed traveling to see her sons, Rick in Virginia and David in Kansas, as much as her daily visits with her daughter, Cindy of East Jordan. She truly enjoyed being part of the Cosier family.
Pat loved crocheting, donating 1000's of items to the Veterans of Michigan, Pediatrics of Northern Michigan Hospital and the local community baskets. She also loved being with family and friends. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 228 and volunteered at numerous blood banks and the Fly Wheelers Club especially when the local school children visited.
Pat will be missed by all who knew her. She was not afraid to speak her mind and was always willing to lend a hand or spend the night with a friend in need. She had a heart as big as the ocean and as strong as steel. Never willing to concede to her nemesis, she fought cancer longer than anyone thought she would.
Pat is survived by her husband, Art, and her children, three sisters, two of Boyne and Joyce in Flint, 19 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests donations to Hospice of The Straits or Northern Michigan Cancer Crusaders in lieu of flowers.
