The funeral of Charles Chadwick was held in Williamston last Thursday at 2:30 pm in the Congregational church, conducted by Revs. Chaflin and Thrasher. The remains were taken to the Alchin cemetery for burial. He was a former resident of this town and was a great sufferer for several months before his demise.
Mrs. Hoag of Lansing, sister of Mr. Chadwick, attended the funeral and accompanied her sister, Mrs. Milo Smith, home from the cemetery and visted there with the families of Elmer and John Smith until Saturday morning, taking the train at Webberville for Williamston, her former home, remaining until Sunday evening when she returned to her home in Lansing.

He is in the 1870 Leroy, Ingham Co census, age 30, with wife Atlanta, age 29 and daughter Sarah A, age 8/12.

In the 1880 census he is in Williamston with wife Julia and no kids and an 11 year old Mattie Killborne. Must be his stepdaughter.

He had two daughters with his wife Atlanta who appeared to have been raised by others. Annette (Nettie) appears in the census records with Charles' aunt Emily Chadwick Lowell and his daughter Atlanta Holla appears in the census records with Charles' sister Mahala Lemm Hoag.
