Mary B. Gilmour, age 69, of Keithsburg, Illl., passed away at 3:18 a.m., Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Forrest Hill Nursing Rehab Center in East Moline, Ill.surrounded by loved ones. Mary was born on May 10, 1943 at her families home in Keithsburg, Ill. She is the daughter of Kenneth and Eva Kenney Tharp. Mary was reared and educated in Keithsburg and attended Keithsburg Schools. She married Gene Gilmour on March 16, 1961 in Rozetta, Ill. They were married for 39 years. In her early years, she worked outside the home, and was later a homemaker. She enjoyed being with her kids and family. Mary enjoyed playing cards, having birthday dinners with her sisters and mother, spending holidays with her family, and bingo at the nursing home.
Mary is survived by two sons; Jeff Gilmour (Shawn) of Keithsburg, Tim Gilmour (Chasity) of Keithsburg, one daughter Theresa Lox (David) of Oquawka, 11 grandchildren; Tyler, Tara, Travis, Tori, Brooke, Christopher, Kelsey, Kole, Jordan, Bandan, Kevin, and six great grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers; Roger Tharp (Linda) of Roseville, Ill., Marvin Tharp (Dee) of Taylor Ridge, Ill., Irvin Tharp (Kay) of Keithsburg, Ill., Frank Tharp (Becky) of Seaton, Ill. Three sisters; Marna Stewart (Jean) of Keithsburg, Ill., Doris Whitesell (late Clearence) of Rock Island, Ill., Ester Gibbs (late Richard) of Aledo, Ill. and two sister-in-laws Donna Tharp and Peggy Tharp. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers; Lyle Tharp and Jim Tharp, and one sister Dorothy Harader (John).
Services: A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the Keithsburg Christian Church in Keithsburg, Ill. Interment will be in the Keithsburg Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Keithsburg Christian Church where her family will be present to receive friends.
A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date.
