Upson Alexander Wright was my ggg-grandfather. He was born 14 April 1823 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia - and was apparently the son of William Moses Wright (1783-1863) and Winnie Ann Jones (1783-1875). The only sibling so far is Asa Asbury Wright (1822-1903). Need to have more information and/or verification of his parents and siblings.

Upson married my ggg-grandmother, Kezziah K. Harris (1835-1921) on 27 September 1849 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia; DIVORCED: 6 July 1891 - Alachua Co., Florida. They had THIRTEEN children:
(1) Daniel Alexander Wright (1850-1875);
(2) Harriet Elizabeth Wright (1852-1891);
(3) James Redding Wright (1853 - 1935)
(4) Reason Eldridge Wright (1855-1890)
(5) Silas Joshua Wright (1857-1943) (My gg-grandfather)
(6) Allen Vinson Wright (1858-1917)
(7) Christiana Caroline Wright Jameson Jones (1860-1952)
(8) John Wesley Wright (1862-1920)
(9) Willis Woodson Wright (1865-1939)

Upson served briefly in the Civil War, enlisting in Co.A, 11th Battalion, Georgia Volunteer Artillery "Sumter Artillery" on 6 July 1861; discharged 29 September 1861.

After his divorce from Kezziah, Upson married a second time to Arucia "Susan" Elizabeth Spells on January 11, 1892 in Alachua County, Florida - who we believe to be 37 years his junior. At this time, however, we know nothing about Arucia.

Upson died at the age of 76 on 23 April 1899 in Newberry, Alachua County, Florida.

Would love to communicate with any other descendants and/or clarify or add information to my family. Would especially treasure any pictures.
