Known as Berne Nadall, he was an artist and inventor. His first wife was Caroline "Carrie" Ann Collins and his second wife was Regina Kemper. He was the son of Steamboat Captain Bernard Nadal and Josephine Olmstead. He lived in Chicago, England, Cincinnati and Indianapolis. He was a judge for the Indianapolis 500 and served on various projects for the Chicago Motor Club. He also designed the Caslon Antique font.
