Benjamin Franklin Mayo Nadall was born April 28, 1905 in North Loup, Valley, NE to Benjamin (#91932985) and Louise M. (Sears) (#91885829) Mayo. He had one sister, Harriette Louise Mayo (#91885542).
At only a few months old, Ben's dad died of Multiple Sclerosis. His mother married for a 2nd time when Ben was 5 yrs. old to John "Jack" V. Maddox (#91885701), a man 14 years younger.
We are not sure how it all came about, but Jack felt Ben a threat and Louise gave up her son to Bernard "Berne" William S. (#84238478) and Caroline "Carrie" Ann (Collins) (#85224518) Nadall in Crystal Lake, McHenry, IL.
Harriette continued to live with her mother, Louise, and Jack.
The Nadalls also took in a little girl, Beverly, who was born in 1909. She wed Jacob R. Hartman on October 17, 1931.
Ben wed Erma A. Boswell from Paoli, Orange, IN on April 2, 1927.
Ben served as the Deputy Sheriff of Orange County and then as Sheriff for 3 terms. He was very active in his community and well respected by all.
He and his wife, Erma, raised her nephew, Wendell Mickler, from a small boy into manhood.
Erma's sister, Ethel (Boswell) and husband, Ermel Mickler lived next door. Ethel cared for their father, Hiram Boswell, in his latter years.
