FOUND DEAD AT HIS HOOKER HOME A Bursted Blood - Vessel Is Thought to Be the Cause of His Passing Away

H. Stegmann of Hooker, was found dead at his home Thursday afternoon. He was seventy-five years of age and it is thought that death was caused from loss of bood, resulting from a ruptured blood-vessel. Mr. Stegmann had lived at Hooker on his ranch for the past fifteen years. He leaves a wife and three daughters Mrs. G. E. Boleman of Dunsmuir, Mrs. John Mohr of Hooker and Mrs. H. Nottleman of Red Bluff. The remains were brought to Red Bluff Saturday evening for interment.

Note: It is family tradition that Hans accidently cut an artery in his leg with an axe while chopping wood. His wife Elsie did not know how to stop the flow of blood and Hans bled to death.
