THE PARIS NEWS, Jan. 1, 2012, page 3A. - B.J. Fain of Direct passed from this earth on Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at Paris Nursing and Rehabilitation. Visitation for Mr. Fain is planned for 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, at his home in Direct. A private ceremony will be held to spread his ashes.
Mr. Fain was born Jan. 29, 1919, to David Janeral and Birdie Lewis Fain. He married Janette Townsend Stephens on Dec. 6, 1968, and enjoyed 43 years as her devoted husband. B.J. was known for his talent as a fine finish carpenter, having worked on many of the finer homes built in the 1950s through the 1970s. He was a wonderful provider and had a tremendous work ethic. B.J.'s favorite endeavor was his cattle and ranching and his favorite horses. He was one of the first to bale round hay bales in Lamar County. B.J. always had a pleasant sense of humor, a quick sincere smile, courteous manner toward all and always ready to help a friend. He takes from this world a wealth of knowledge and talent and will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; the mother of his children, LaVenia Beavers Fain; granddaughter, Lori LaVenia Legate; son, Boyd Janeral Fain; sisters, Lura Lee Kincaid and Settie Lou; brothers Jack Fain, Sam Fain, Marvin Lewis Fain and Edgar Fain.
He is survived by his wife, Janette Fain; children, Debra Walker and husband, Casey, of Tyler, Joel Stephens and wife, Teresa, and their children, Trent and Jessica Stephens, of Paris; daughter, Fran DiGiacomo and husband, Len, of Dallas and grandsons, Marc DiGiacomo and wife, Jill, and Eric Taylor and wife, Brooke, of California; daughter, Marilyn Bellavance and husband, Roland, of Paris and grandchildren Ross Legate of Paris, Audri Beugelsdijk and husband, Arie, of Washington D.C., Valerie Gagne and husband, Aaron, of Florida, grandson, Jonathan Jack Fain and wife, Laura, of Dallas, Leah Flippo and husband, Mike, of Denison, and step-grandson, Shane Barnes and wife, Kim, of Dallas. Also surviving are five great-grandsons, Koen Beugelsdijk, Karter Beugelsdijk, Nathan Fain, Kyle Fain, Paul DiGiacomo; and three great-granddaughters, Lisse Beugelsdijk, Quinlan Taylor and Avery Gagne. B.J. also leaves behind a wonderful extended family of nieces and nephews, sister and brothers-in-law.
Cremated, Location of ashes is unknown.
