Paulette Sue Alloway, 72, of Bettsville, passed away July 19, 2014 at the Grandwood Assisted Living Center in Grove, Oklahoma. Paulette was born May 3, 1942 in Fostoria, to the late Paul Edmond Andrews and Maxine Marguerite (Heinze) Andrews Edgerton. She married Jan Murphy and they later divorced and then she married William Kenneth Alloway January 25, 1970 in Bettsville, and he preceded her in death April 7, 2010. Survivors include her children, John Paul (Kathy Lynn) Murphy of Seneca, Missouri, Christine Jo (Kent) Parker of McCutchenville, Michael James (Leslie) Murphy of Grove, Oklahoma, Alan Durrett Alloway of Bettsville, twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two sisters, Karen Murphy of Bettsville and Charlene Jo Lebold of Sylvania, a step-brother, Wayne Edgerton of Kimbolton, OH. Paulette retired from the Bettsville School after 32 years. She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Bettsville and a graduate of the Bettsville High School. Paulette enjoyed her music whether it was playing bells at church, playing her organ at home or just singing along with the radio. She loved a good campfire and visits with family and friends. Paulette was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a step-sister, Paula Mihki. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 28, 2014 at the Zion United Church of Christ in Bettsville with the Rev. Curt Gallmeyer officiating. Visitation for family and friends will also be on Monday, from 10-11 a.m., at the church. Burial will follow the services on Monday, at the Pleasant Union cemetery in Old Fort. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Bettsville is assisting the family with their arrangements.
