John Buss, 54, died suddenly,
Wednesday, June 17, 1925 of heart
trouble, while on the way from a trip
some distance from his home which
is sixteen miles north of Cheyenne
Wells, Colorado. He had been attending
a church conference, and was returning
home in the car with the minister driving.
When they were about a hundred miles
from home he suddenly complained of not
feeling well and the car was stopped.
His companion advised him to lie
down in the car but death came in
a few seconds. (Mr Bussís death was at
Simla, Elbert County, Colorado)
He had had previous attacks of heart trouble.
He was born in Germany, August
28,1871. When a lad he came to
this country with his parents, arriving
in Illinois for a year and then coming
to Blue Hill, Nebraska. He was married
17 Jan 1894 to Miss Julia Bank and six
children were born of the union, all of
whom survive him. In 1922 the family
moved to Cheyenne Wells, Colorado,
where they have had considerable success.

He was interested in church and school
work and when visiting relatives here last
fall was very enthused over the new
Lutheran church they were building at
Cheyenne Wells, Colorado which he was
supporting and giving his services for, but
he did not live to see it finished.

He is survived by his wife, five sons and
one daughter. One son Carl Buss lives at Ayr,
and daughter Mrs Ellis Wilder of Hastings from
out of state, attended the funeral at Cheyenne
Wells Saturday. Jake Buss, Sr, and Ed Buss Sr,
living at Blue Hill, Nebraska are brothers of the
deceased man. Mrs Lena Goeken, Delavan,
Illinois and two other brothers,William Buss at
Lincoln, Illinois and Peter Buss living in Gernany,
who Jake Buss, Sr of Blue Hill is now visiting, also
survive him.

Mr Buss had just completed the erection of
a lovely new home on his 320 acre farm. The
Widow and three sons remaining at home will
continue farming.
