CARTHAGE, MO. - Marjorie Mabel Egert of Carthage, Mo., formerly of Prophetstown, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011.
Marjorie was born Jan. 24, 1927, in Tampico, the daughter of George and Darlene (Anderburg) Forward. She married Lowell Egert on Dec. 25, 1944. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2004. Marjorie was a member of Erie Christian Church, and attended First Christian Church, Carthage, Mo.
She was a homemaker and helped her husband farm, as well as working as a floral designer, window dresser, and gift shop owner during her life.
Their Christmas light display brought thousands of people to their farm in Tampico for many years.
She is survived by two daughters, Diana Catron and Lana (Larry) Musche, both of Carthage, Mo.; four grandchildren, Lowell (Valerie) Catron, Jodi (Richard) Hodkin, and James(Stacey) Musche, all of Carthage, Mo.; and Carla (Tom) Morris of Parker, Colo.; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Thelma (Bill) Blum of Oregon; one brother, Robert (Dorothy) Forward of Carl Junction, Mo.; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Paula Richardson of Carthage, Mo., and Shirley Maes of Prophetstown.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, George Forward Jr.; and three sisters, Edna Howlett, Frances Teer and Helen Forward.
Private graveside service will be at Tampico Cemetery with Lowell Catron, one of Marjorie's grandsons, officiating.
