John "Jack" Taszreak, son of Thomas and Frances (Piatsky) Taszreak, brother of Joseph, Mary (Gemerek), Alex, Elizabeth (Boytim), Walter, Frank, Stephen Grossmer, Thomas, Martin and Anthony.

John never married.

His brother Stephen for an unknown reason changed his last name to Grossmer.

As a bachelor he was loved by all and had a great personality.

MORANN -- Mass of the Resurrection will be said tomorrow at 10 a.m. in St. Barbara's Polish National Catholic Church in Houtzdale for John Taszreak of Morann.
Mr. Taszreak, 74, died Wednesday at 11:35 a.m. in the Philipsburg State General Hospital of a heart attack.
The Rev. Fr. Theodore Peplowski will officiate at the service and interment will be in the church cemetery.
Friends are being received today at the Buranovsky Funeral Home, Ramey, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Vigil prayer services will be held tonight at 7 o'clock at the funeral home.
Mr. Taszreak was born May 24, 1900, in Morann, a son of Thomas and Frances (Petsky) Taszreak. He was a retired coal miner, a member of Local 1530 of the United Mine Workers of America, First Catholic Slovak Union, Lodge 667, of Ramey, Young Men's Society of Resurrection No. 40 and Senior Citizens Council No. 4.
He is survived by five brothers and two sisters as follows: Steve, Osceola; Thomas, Buffalo, NY; Frank, Martin, Anthony and Mrs. Mary Gmerek, all of Detroit, Mich; and Mrs. Elizabeth Boytin, Akron, Ohio.
His parents and three brothers, Alex, Joseph and Walter, preceded him in death.
