Rev. Alford C. "A.C." Gilliard, 83, is the son of the late Alfred J. Gilliard and Carrie Bell Golden Gilliard. On December 18, 1947, he married Latrelle Roland Gilliard, who survives. A. C. was a Missionary Baptist Minister from 1979 to 2007 at Long Branch Baptist Church. He had to retire due to cancer, but God let him live for 5½ years longer and he still blessed the lives of many people. His life was serving God, his church, ministering to the elderly, the sick and dearly loved children.

Very dear to him were his small immediate family which consisted of a wife, a son, two grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, a grand-daughter-in-law and his nieces and nephews. He officiated at over 100 weddings and did numerous funerals for family and friends. He was active in the Grady County Baptist Association where he served as leader for 2 years. He was an active member of Long Branch Baptist Church.

Rev. Gilliard leaves behind, his wife of 64 years, Latrelle Roland Gilliard; son, Allen Gregory Gilliard; grandson and spouse, Michael and Sandy Gilliard; great-grandchildren, Whitney & Dillan Gilliard; sister-in-law, Evelyn Gilliard; and many nieces and nephews.

Rev. Gilliard was preceded in death by: his parents, Alfred and Carrie Gilliard; daughter-in-law, Judy Gilliard; grandson, Jeffery Gilliard; sisters, Icie Mae Bragg, Ollie Brinson; brothers, Kater Gilliard, Horace Gilliard, Delma Gilliard and Marion Gilliard.
