Christina Bitterman was born Jan. 22, 1873 in Russia to George and Christina (Hauck) Bitterman.

She was united in marriage to John Bechtold on Dec. 19, 1893 in Yankton, South Dakota. To this union were born 12 children, 4 daughters and 8 sons.

Christina is survived by her husband, John; 4 daughters, Christina (John) Brost, Amelia (George) Allshouse, Rose (Harry) Weber, Pauline (Norman) Graves; 4 sons, John Jr, Leonard, Albert, Ferdinand; her parents; 4 sisters; 2 brothers; and a host of friends.

Christina was preceeded in death by three of her children who died in infancy, and her son Ebby.
