Bath School Disaster Victim
Clarence was the son of J. Wendell and Clara McFarren. He was thirteen years old and in the sixth grade. Due to illness, he had to stay home from school a few days before the bombing and, while recouperating, had built what he called a tractor out of some household items including spools and clock springs. He had it running across the floor under it's own power. Clarence was killed along with 44 others when his school was bombed by a disgruntled employee. It remains as the worst attack upon a school in the history of the United States.
