Source of confusion: There is an Elizabeth Hickox Gaylord who married John Gaylord, daughter of Joseph William Hickox Jr (1645-1687) and Mary Carpenter (1650-1687). They were buried in the same cemetery (according to THE HISTORY OF ANCIENT WINDSOR, CONNECTICUT, by Henry R. Stiles, 1863) And there is an Elizabeth Gaylord Hickox who married Joseph Hickox (1677-1725), daughter of Joseph Gaylord (1649-1712) and Sarah Stanley (1651-1711).
