Katherine "Kate" Serafin, 14, died on December 29, 2013 of AML Leukemia Cancer at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

She was born on February 19, 1999 in Baltimore, was raised in Pasadena, MD, and was a 9th grade student at Chesapeake High School. She enjoyed playing piano and the violin, listening to classical music, was an avid artist, and liked to go shopping. She was also a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church in Riviera Beach.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, January 3, 2014 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church. Interment will be in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie.

She is survived by her parents, Bernard Serafin and Minerva Serafin of Pasadena; one brother, Shawn Serafin of Pasadena; and one grandmother, Nancy Lee Serafin of Pasadena.
