Vennice C. Durbin, 81, of 305 Martinsburg Road, died Thursday afternoon at home after a long illness.
Born Dec. 30, 1900 in Knox County to John and Alvada (Shira) Snyder, she was a lifelong Knox County resident and was member of the Owl Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Durbin, May 24, 1975, and one son Dale, 1961.
Mrs. Durbin is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Thelma Taylor of Mount Vernon, Mrs. Gordon (Eleanor) Laymon of Newark, Mrs. Carl (Dessie) Shaffer of Fredericktown, Mrs. Harold (Marilyn) Magers of Howard; two sons, Lester Durbin of Mount Vernon, Ronald Durbin of Loudonville; 23 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers Alva Snyder of Howard and O. D. Snyder of Ankenytown.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Dowds-Wiggins Funeral Home where the funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Gail G. Buckles officiating.
Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery.
