Cecil Ray "Pawpaw" Carr, 74, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2012.
Ray was born in Coldspring, Texas on December 23, 1937, to the late Vera and Jesse Carr.
Ray served four years in the United States Air Force. Following his career in the Armed Forces, Ray began a thirty-three year career with the Beaumont Police Department. Retiring in 2001, Ray enjoyed spending time with his family. His hobbies included fishing, boating, camping, vacationing in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, and watching the Houston Astros. A Christian throughout his life, Ray attended First United Methodist Church in Port Neches and served as the vice president of the Asbury class.
Ray is survived by his wife, Linda Carr; children, Steven Carr, Deborah Cox, Megan Byrd and Sarah Carr; brother, Earl Carr and his wife, Joyce; mother-in-law, Freddie Cotton; sister-in-law, Debbie Graham; brother-in-law, Gary Graham; sons-in-law, Gene Cox and Sam Byrd; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Interment: Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches, Texas
