Leonard Twardowski, 50, of Moosic, died Tuesday morning in Community Medical Center, Scranton, where he was a patient for two days.
Born in Moosic, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary (Haduck) Twardowski. He was graduate of Riverside High School and was employed by Schott Optical in Duryea. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, West Scranton. He was a member of the Choke Creek Rod and Gun Club, Thornhurst. He was a beloved husband and an avid fisherman and loved hunting with his brother Frank and brothers-in-law Joe Carden and Michael Dudzick.
Survivors are his wife of 17 years, the former Kathleen Southard; brother Frank, Jenkins Township; sisters Dolores Geklinsky, Ashley; Susan Dudzick, Avoca; Terri Carden, Avoca; Ann Twardowski, Avoca; several nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Also his beloved dogs Ming and Molly and his guinea pig Chuckie Fenster. He was preceded in death by a sister Carole George.
The funeral will be Friday at 8:45 a.m. from the Ruane and Regan Funeral, 1308 Grove St., Avoca, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel on Oram Street, Scranton. Interment will be Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
