Albert enlisted for Civil War army service in Company H, 103rd Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry, as a private, August 10, 1862, at Elyria, Ohio(Lorain County), for a term of 3 years. Occupation: Farmer. He died of disease in an army hospital at Frankfort, Kentucky. His name is on the Civil War soldier statue base in Butternut Ridge Cemetery, erroneously spelled "Elbert." The cemetery is actually in Eaton Township.
