Frederick enlisted as a private for Civil War service in Company C of the 103rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment, March 1, 1864 at Cleveland, OH(Cuyahoga County) for a term of 3 years. Occupation: Farmer. He was mustered out July 26, 1965 at Cleveland, Ohio by Order of the U.S. War Department.
His surname was sometimes spelled "Weingard." The location of his death is uncertain. He did live in the northeast corner of Wood County in Lake and Troy Townships which abutted the village of Oregon in Lucas County to the north, and Allen Township in Ottawa County to the east. It is unknown whether or not he was ever married. There are no other grave stones nearby with his surname on them.
He enlisted late in the Civil War. The 103rd Ohio had been originally recruited in July and August of 1862.
