Arthur Hare Jr., 85, of St. Charles, died Sunday (April 24, 2005) at his residence.

Mr. Hare was a retired machinist from McDonnell Douglas Corp., now Boeing Co., where he had worked for 35 years.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy from 1942 to 1945.

He was a member of Show Me Gem Club; Rock Hobby Club; St. Louis Gem and Mineral Society; and was a former member of McDonnell Douglas Gem and Mineral Society.

Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Paul Funeral Home, 240 North Kingshighway, St. Charles. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Elsberry City Cemetery on Highway B.

Among survivors are a son, Dan Hare of St. Charles; a daughter, Sandy Loveless of St. Charles; a sister, Tessie Heydt of St. Charles; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions can be made to American Heart Association or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in care of Paul Funeral Home, 240 North Kingshighway, St. Charles, Mo. 63301.
