Billy Joe Cooper, age 66 was born in the Oil Valley community, October 24, 1944 the son of the late Winfred and Mollie Sweet Cooper. He passed away Sunday evening, July 31st at the University Of Kentucky.
On April 14th, 2006 he united in marriage with Peggy Jane Eads Perdue Cooper, who survives.
Also surviving are his step children: Heather Perdue, Jared and his wife Melissa Perdue: his sister, Mary and her husband Clarence Bertram of Campbellsville and two nephews, Tracy and Gary Bertram.
He is preceded in death by an infant brother, Bobby Cooper and his niece, Jeannie Bertram.
Bill was a retired from Bell South as an engineer. He had served his country with honor during the Vietnam War in the Air Force and served his Lord as a faithful member of the Elk Spring Valley Baptist Church.
