Update from Barry Holland...
Most everything I have read has his name as Emanuel Alonzo Hicks. He always went by Lonnie from what I understand. So far the only mention of Elonzo is a WWI draft card. He does sign it "Emanuel E Lonzo Hicks", and it is written Elonzo at the top. He is listed as Lonny on the 1880 census, Alonzo on the 1900, Emanuel L. on the 1910 and 1930, and E. L. on the 1920. Quite confusing. He was also once confused with his brother-in-law Dave Cook, who was killed in the Minden tornado of 1933. There was an article mentioning 'local business owner' killed, etc. The following week they retracted. I've been told he owned a brothel in Minden.
